Life and its lessons 33 ππ
Allahu Akbar - Allahu Akbar π€²
The other day while at work my mind was full of calculating things π β do this, what if, why did I, only when, why did they, worrying β¦β¦β¦. And the duhur Adhan began β Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar. Living in a Muslim country, the adhan is normality in my life, but this time Allah made me hear and feel it in a different way making all the thoughts fade π€². Allah is the Greatest, greater than my worries, my concerns and my troubles β I felt a calm βΊοΈ, a reminder that his world is not mine, not permanent, a phase that I am meant to pass. My lesson, the adhan is not only a call for prayer π, but also a reminder of who Allah is, a restart for life multiple times of the day and a reminder to only task myself on what I can do, to focus on what matters, worry less about things not in my control and work on my Dunya and Akhira.
Rooftops ποΈποΈ
Rooftops come with a unique view especially at night π, they come with the right breeze, cozy spaces, photo opportunities π·and a chance to stare at the sky πlistening and reflecting. Just thinking about rooftops made me admire more of the building it stands on. If the building didnβt have the base structure, strong foundation and floors stretching tall, we wouldnβt get the top views. This analogy makes me wonder how I keep wanting to enjoy the benefits and perks of what a rooftop brings without being ready to endure, sacrifice and construct the building that holds it π. Do I want to continue to live on the lies that other rooftops bring, rent and pay for their services, or am I ready to build, structure and shape my own building πͺ for my rooftop. My lesson, this mirrors situations in my life, a workplace that does not fully fit me, To do lists that remain undone, a business plan that remains a plan, sleep and pleasure over effort and dreams without action. My wish of a beautiful rooftop would only come if I am ready to start and patiently sweat π, sacrifice and work on the building.
Hits differently
Growing older β³ and closer to the grave makes you see life differently. You find stories of randomness boring π, you have more reflective moments πͺ, you associate with smaller groups of people π«, you think and worry about your tomorrow and your legacy. You move from what others think to what I think. Death hits differently - βInna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un - Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall returnβ is no more a sentence than a deeper meaning β I wonder of all the dreams, plans, fears and responsibilities the person had before their death π’ and a constant reminder of my death - what have I built towards the day when people will send condolences to my family π€. My lesson, I donβt know how long I have to live, but I know what and how I should be living while I am alive π.
Note to self πβοΈ
Hurt today π₯΅ and build yourself for tomorrow π.
Inspiration π
Notes from the gym coach - Growth starts where comfort ends. The workout that feels impossible today will become the one you barely think about tomorrow. Every rep, every set, every drop of sweat is building a stronger version of you. Donβt stop. Keep proving yourself wrong.
Until next time InshaβAllah β Cya π
