Life and its lessons (32) ๐๐
I am sorry โค๏ธโ๐ฉน:
From time to time, I write a sorry note to myself, itโs been a while since I wrote one......... Z, I am sorry ๐, I am sorry for the wrong I did against you, for the unanswered calls you have been sending out which remained unheard, for not putting into action your dreams, procrastinating them for years shelfed and left to dust for no apparent reason. For prioritizing others over you and downgrading your wants and needs. I am sorry I keep talking about change with little action, for writing long to-do list without many completes, and giving you less of the more that I had to give. My lesson, sorry, does not take away what was done, but gives us an awareness of ourselves ๐ค. Rarely do we get apologies for the wrong that others do to us ๐ข. Giving one to ourselves is recognition and acknowledgement and a reminder to work on correcting the wrongs.
The rule ๐:
My mind sometimes keeps me in a loop ๐คช. Even though I see proof and evidence in front of me, I willingly lie to myself that this could be the exemption, this could be the outlier. Weight increases incrementally for years due to unhealthy habits, and I expect to jump up within a week and question why my knees hurt. Having bad financial management all your life and wanting to have thousands in savings and live a future that we have not planned for. Questioning why someone stopped talking when we have been beating them up for years.
I know it will take years to undo the unhealthy habits that my body went through โ I need to build new habits, struggle and leave what is not good for me. Wanting something and not working on it is the illusion that we live in. My lesson, I am no exemption nor an outlier โ I am the rule โ. If I want something I need to work for it, the harder the work the greater the reward.
Note to self โ๏ธ ๐:
Naftu seeto ayey waayin, hana falin sidaad doonto
My inspiration ๐:
I take this posts inspiration from a video that kept popping up. In a world that wants and profits from your attention โ protect your peace ๐.
โYou donโt need to respond to everything. At some point you stop reacting and start choosing silence out of self-respectโฆโฆ Because I am going to be honest with you, you know every response costs you something - your peace, your focus, your dignity. There is always a cost to responding to peopleโฆ.. Over the years I learned something and that is that maturity is realizing that you donโt owe everyone an explanation, strength is knowing that silence often says more than words ever couldโฆ. you donโt win every battle by showing up. Sometimes the win is removing yourself emotionally ๐, so they keep talking to your absence long after you stopped listening. Let them have the last word, while you protect your peace.
Until next time InshaโAllah โ Cya ๐
